About the Workshop

The fourth edition of a series of yearly international workshops on Advanced Dielectrics and Applications invites you to attend the IWADA 2023, which will be held in João Pessoa, Brazil, from the 5th to the 6th of December. The Workshop is dedicated to discussing and intensive research in the field of advanced dielectric, sensors applications, robotics, alternative energy and related research. We also encourage young scientists and students to attend IWADA 2023 and discuss some of the hot topics:

Advanced and Multifunctional materials: This is a category that involves all materials that are being developed or have been recently designed using new fabrication processes or technologies to improve mechanical, thermal, optical, magnetic, or electrical properties. The most representative examples of advanced materials are those based on nanocomposites.

Sensors Applications: This is a topic that is very much related to material science since a large number of sensors and their applications relays on material properties. And with the material evolution new sensors are being developed. For instance, in late 1980, polymer foams started to play a more active role in sensing materials after it was found that trapped electrical charges could lead to high electromechanical behavior.

Robotics: This topic is much related to material science due to the fact that robots require several kind of sensors depending on their applications. In the last decade soft robotics has are became a hot topic in advanced material science and is directly involved into the future of urbanization.

Alternative Energy: The search for new methods of clean and efficient energy production has driven research into multifunctional materials, addressing topics within the concept of energy harvesting. Although many may not envision large-scale energy generation, special attention is given to applications in automation and microelectronics.

Smart Cities: In an effort to bring material advancements into applications aimed at urban progress, this topic will discuss the leading and most recent integration and monitoring systems for enhancing urbanization.
